Policy sections

1. Who is responsible

WordBlaster is an independent game developed and maintained by Adaildo Neto, a Brazilian developer, who is the controller of the personal data processed in the game under Brazil's General Data Protection Law (LGPD, Law No. 13,709/2018). Contact: adaildo.neto@gmail.com.

2. Account and login

You can play without an account, as a guest; in that case your progress stays on your device only. Creating an account is optional and unlocks cloud saves, the global leaderboard, missions, energy, duels and friends.

  • Sign in with Google: handled by Google's Firebase Authentication. We receive the email, name and profile photo of your Google account.
  • Email and password: we store your email and only a hash of your password (irreversibly encrypted). We never store the password itself.
  • Google Play Games (Android): used only to sync Play Games leaderboards and achievements. It does not replace your WordBlaster account.

3. Data we process

Depending on how you use the game, we may process:

  • Account: email, name, Google profile photo (if you sign in with Google) and encrypted password (if you use email and password).
  • Public profile: the display name and avatar you choose. Other players see them on the leaderboard, in duels and in friend lists.
  • Gameplay: score, level, XP, energy, missions, achievements, records, match history and duel results.
  • Friends and invites: who you added as a friend and who joined the game through your invite.
  • In-app purchases: a record of purchases made through Google Play (product, order identifier and subscription expiry). We never receive or store card or other payment details: payment is processed entirely by Google Play.
  • Notifications: if you turn on notifications, we store the device or browser identifier (token), platform, time zone and your preferences, to send game alerts.
  • Rewarded ads: we record that an optional ad was watched, linked to your account, to deliver the energy reward.
  • Usage and technical data: on the web, with your consent, Google Analytics collects usage statistics (pages visited, game events, device and browser type). Our server also logs technical data, such as IP address and access time, for security and operation.
  • Shared images: when you share a match result, the generated image (with your score and display name) is uploaded to PostImage to create a public link.

4. How we use the data

We use data only to run and improve the game, on these legal bases under the LGPD:

  • Providing the service you asked for: creating and keeping your account, saving progress, running leaderboards, duels and friends, and delivering purchases and rewards.
  • Consent: optional cookies, personalized ads, Google Analytics on the web and notifications. You can withdraw consent at any time.
  • Legitimate interest: security, preventing fraud and abuse (for example, with purchases and rewards) and fixing bugs.
  • Legal obligation: complying with laws, court orders and requests from competent authorities.

5. Who we share data with

WordBlaster does not sell personal data. We only share data with those needed for the game to work:

  • Google: Firebase Authentication (login), Google Play and Google Play Games (purchases, leaderboards and achievements), Firebase Cloud Messaging (Android notifications), Google AdSense and AdMob (ads) and Google Analytics (web statistics).
  • Browsers: web notifications are delivered through your browser's push service.
  • Hosting: the provider that hosts the website and the game database.
  • PostImage: only the result images you choose to share.
  • Authorities: when required by law or court order.

Some of these services, such as Google's, process data outside Brazil. This international transfer follows the safeguards provided by the LGPD and each service's terms.

6. Advertising and cookies

WordBlaster is free and supported by ads. On the web we use Google AdSense, and in the Android app we use Google AdMob.

  • Third-party cookies: third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies and similar identifiers to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
  • Personalized ads: advertising cookies enable Google and its partners to serve ads based on visits to WordBlaster and/or other sites on the Internet. Learn more at How Google uses cookies in advertising.
  • How to opt out: you can opt out of personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings and opt out of other vendors' cookies at www.aboutads.info. On Android, you can reset or delete your advertising ID in the system settings.
  • Consent on the website: on the web, optional cookies, including advertising and Google Analytics cookies, are only enabled after you accept them in the cookie notice. Without that consent, we do not load Google ads or Analytics.
  • Rewarded ads: some ads are optional and grant extra in-game energy. To validate the reward, we only record that the ad was watched, linked to your account.

7. Storage, security and retention

We use secure connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords and restricted access to the server and database. We keep data while your account exists. When you delete your account on the account deletion page, your account data, progress, friends and notifications are erased from our database. Purchase records are also kept by Google Play under Google's policy.

8. Your rights

Under the LGPD, you may request at any time:

  • confirmation that we process your data and access to it;
  • correction of incomplete or outdated data (your display name and avatar can be changed in your game profile);
  • anonymization, blocking or deletion of unnecessary data, and deletion of your account;
  • portability of your data;
  • information about who we share your data with;
  • withdrawal of consent (for example, by declining optional cookies or turning off notifications).

To exercise these rights, email adaildo.neto@gmail.com. You may also file a complaint with Brazil's National Data Protection Authority (ANPD).

9. Minimum age

WordBlaster is designed for teens and adults. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from people in that age group; if we identify such data, it will be deleted. If you are between 13 and 17, use the game and make purchases with the knowledge and permission of your parents or guardians.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the game or the law changes. The last update date is shown at the top of the page and, if the change is significant, we will let you know in the game or on the website.
