WordBlaster board with letters forming words

The idea

The classic word search is played on paper: you look for hidden words in straight lines. WordBlaster takes the idea to a different pace. Instead of hunting for a ready-made list, you build your own words by connecting neighboring letters on a 7x7 board, in any direction. Each accepted word disappears from the board, new letters fall in and no two games are alike.

On top of that there are special tiles (bombs, missiles, extra time and point bonuses), a global ranking and modes for every taste: games against the clock, calm games with no timer, vocabulary themes, a campaign in stages and a daily challenge where everyone plays the same board.

Who it is for

For anyone who loves words. Students use WordBlaster to practice spelling and grow their vocabulary; competitive players fight for the top of the ranking and challenge friends to duels; and anyone who just wants to relax for a few minutes plays Zen mode, with no timer.

You can play in English or in Brazilian Portuguese, each with its own dictionary — including plurals and verb forms — and every accepted word shows its meaning, so you learn while you play.

@adaildoneto

WordBlaster is an independent project, created and maintained by Adaildo Neto. The game is family-tested: my son Bernardo has been the official beta tester since the first versions, and many of the game's ideas came from games played at home.

Thanks to Anne, Victor, João and Catarina for all the support along the way.

How the game stays free

Playing WordBlaster is free. To pay for servers and development, the game shows ads between some games and offers optional ads that give extra energy. If you prefer, you can subscribe to the VIP Pass, which unlocks special tiles in every game. Learn how we handle data and ads in our Privacy Policy.
